This week the Walt Disney Co. introduced a new pass option for park guests: the Disney Premier Passport.

This passport basically combines the premium passes Disney already offers to its guests for the North American parks in Anaheim, California, and Orlando, Florida.

For $700, the new pass grants unlimited admission for one year to:

  • Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim, CA (including parking).
  • Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water parks, DisneyQuest indoor interactive theme park, ESPN Wide World of Sports complex and Disney’s Oak Trail golf course in Orlando (including parking).

Some events may require an additional charge, Disney said.

Also included are subscriptions to Mickey Monitor, Backstage Pass and Disney’s Family Fun magazine (one per household).

Those that already hold the premium annual park passes for all of the Anaheim and Orlando parks will be automatically issued the new Premier Pass, with an expiration date based on which ever one expires last.

Those who have any annual or season North American Disney parks pass can pay the difference between their pass and the Premier Pass and get upgraded.

In the current economy, it’s an interesting tactic to offer an all-inclusive pass like this to vacationers. And to be honest, the only way I can see this being worth the price is if you plan to visit the parks on both coasts quite often. Otherwise, you’re probably better off just getting the premium pass just for Anaheim or Orlando.

The new pass is available at Disneyland Resort ticket booths, Disney World guest relations windows and at Disney World’s Downtown Disney.
