Travel Around the Web – Week of February 21, 2010
Posted by Michelle Snow under: travel links carnival .
A little link love for some interesting travel-related articles and other reads I’ve encountered in my journeys around the internet recently. Enjoy…
- I have a slight crush on vintage travel trailers and World Hum had a great photo gallery of them.
- DineLA, a subsite run by the Los Angeles tourist board, ran an interesting list of bike-friendly restaurants in LA.
- The ladies over at The Vacation Gals posted a list of things that should always be in your carry-on luggage when you fly .
- Andrew Evans is traveling by bus from Washington D.C. to Antarctica for National Geographic Traveler. In this post, he explains how he conquered the Darién Gap between the Panama Canal and Columbia.
- Found this interesting story over at Red Orbit on the discovery of a 1,400-year-old wine press by archaeologists in Israel. Wonder how a vintage that old would taste?
- CNN chimed in with more on the airline weight limit controversy stirred up over the last weekend. You’ll remember I talked a bit about this Kevin Smith vs Southwest Air incident earlier this week.
- On a lighter note, Gadling talks briefly about a racy new ad campaign initiated by Mission Beach in Australia. Yes, there is a photo, too.
Got a cool link or story you think I should check out? Feel free to contact me.
