Photo of the Week: Waiting for Jack

Several years ago, Rhonda and I were traveling through Tennessee when we decided to take a last minute detour to Lynchburg. Why? Because it’s home to the distillery from whence Jack Daniels whiskey comes from.
Ironically, the distillery resides in a dry county, which means they can make it, but they can’t sell it to drink. However it is fun to take the free tour…just don’t get your face too close to the mash tanks if you don’t want all of your nose hairs singed off by the smell.
Part of the tour at the Jack Daniels Distillery involves a walk through the cask building. This is where rows upon rows of liquid gold sit in oak caskets, absorbing the flavorings that will eventually become JD Whiskey. Isn’t it a beautiful sight?
